语言测试是一门学科，我们很多人面临的英语测试太多了，但我们如何正确认识语言测试，这些测试就其本身来说科学，有效吗？语言测试具有哪些功能？等等很多问题我们可以讨论，谢谢！

A language test refers to the specific procedures that teachers and examiners employ to try to measure ability in the language, using what learners show they know as an indicator of their ability.
Types of Language Tests  语言测试的类别
A. 按照不同用途(According to their uses)，测试可分为：
1. 学能测试/前瞻测试：Aptitude Test (Prognostic or Predictive Tests)
2. 诊断测试/进步测试：Diagnostic Test (Formative or Progress Test)
3. 成就测试：  Achievement Test (Attainment Test)
4. 编班测试/分级测试：Placement Test
5. 水平测试：  Proficiency Test
B. 按照不同的评分方法(According to different scoring methods)，测试可分为：
6. 客观测试和主观测试 Objective Tests and Subjective Tests
7. 直接测试和间接测试 Direct Tests and Indirect Tests
8. 分离测试和综合测试 Discrete-point Test and Integrative Test
9. 速度测试和能量测试 Speed Test and Power Test
C. 根据对考分的解释(According to the score interpretation)，测试可分为：
10. 标准参照测试/尺度参照 Criterion-referenced / Domain-referenced Test
11. 常模参照测试/标准化测试 Norm-referenced / Standardized Test

Proficiency test( 水平测试 ) is designed to measure people's ability in a language regardless of any training they may have had in that language, such as TOFEL and GRE.

Achievement test( 成就测试) are diretcly related to language courses, their purpose being to establish how successful individual students, groups of students, or the courses themselves hane been in achieving objectives.

感觉这类讨论没有专业人士参与的话没什么意思，本身就不了解那些术语是什么意思，怎么谈？虽然是学外语的，但对测试不感兴趣，所以，还是闭嘴吧。但还是希望有精通此道者来此发表看法

讨论总是由浅到深的，什么理论也都是从最基本的东西开始的。先生或女士，外语学习包括方方面面，你对此不感兴趣很正常，大家道不同也很正常。所以，您还是......吧。

语言测试应该属于很专业的内容, 要想在这里谈个三言两语是很困难的. 而且题目又这么大, 就好像让大家谈谈对人生的看法一样无聊, 但我想你的本意是好的, thanks anyway.

由楼主的题目以及回复突然发现语言测试这个东西在中国很有潜力呢~
你想嘛~大家还不了解语言测试的重要性，甚至不了解什么叫语言测试（当然其实我也不懂）
但是，语言测试其实可以做成一种很考验人能力的测试……就如测你的计算机水平普通话水平一样，可以作为一些单位录取人材的衡量标准之一……
那这样，它就可以成为一个产业项目~哈哈，然后再办语言能力学校（貌似有一些教人怎么说的，但这绝对不是全部的语言能力。）哇~那不是很很很有发展潜力……HOHO……
恩恩~反正我心里觉得语言测试很难测出一个人的全面语言能力，但是真的能做出一个权威的测试，就像IQ测试一样也是很有意义的嘛~
