[元] 马致远《天净沙·秋思》[英译] 冰山、周旋久
[元]马致远:《天净沙·秋思》
枯藤老树昏鸦,小桥流水人家,古道西风瘦马。夕阳西下,断肠人在天涯。
“Meditations in Autumn” by [Yuan] MA Zhiyuan
Version I tr. Bingshan
Withered vines, old trees, in nest e’en crows.
A little bridge, a flowing rill, homes.
Ancient lane, east wind, a scraggy horse;
The sunset glows,
On the wasteland is the woeful soul.
Version II tr. Bingshan
Wilted vines, old trees, at dusk a rook,
Houses, a small bridge, a babbling brook,
Ancient route, east gale, the bony horse shook,
The sun walks out its nook,
At the end of the world the man wears a sad look.
Version III by ZHOU Xuanjiu
The withered vine, the weathered tree and the crow on bough
The little bridge, the streaming brook and the country dwelling
The ancient way, the westward wind and the horses plough
The sun to the west is setting
O the bitter roamer’s far away from home now |
