Are you a serious learner of English?

It is really frustrating that one cannot engage in a lucid conversation in English after learning English for years. I myself often speak broken English though I have been learning English for more than ten years. I thought I was working really hard on bettering my English until one day a guy said I was not a serious learner of English. He said many people in China thought they all believed that they had worked hard enough, yet they had done far less than enough…

So, are you a serious English learner? And what do you think a serious learnER of English should be like?

Yes. Thanks for pointing out the mistakes.  I don't think I am a serious learner. I want to learn English for work reasons. What about you?

originally i learned English just for fun,i'm interested in english-even you can say i'm interested in any languages.and now i learn English for work reasons,it's necessary for me to improve my english.

Above all, language is a tool. Not all people is necessary to be a skilled learner of english. I studied english only for exprssing with others.
