ECG for PA Students
This is an excellent introductory text and companion to my lecture series for PA and Allied Health Students. It begins by emphasizing 12-lead ECG interpretation and evolves to arrhythmias, parts 1 & 2 respectively. Chapters 21 & 22 are an unneccessary summary to all that proceeds it, but may help a few lost soles.
The cases are good, but the printed graphics are small. The end of chapter summaries are nice adjuncts and are more helpful than chapters 21 & 22. Chapters 8 & 9 could be combined and chapter 10 could easily be incorporated into other chapters or moved to part 2. A companion text of \"unknowns\" or increased numbers of problems would be a better use of paper in lieu of chapter 21. Problems with the end-of-chapter, found in the previous edition's review questions, have been fixed. Introduction to cellular electrophysiology could be enhanced since not all students have covered that material in the adjunct physiology course prior to beginning this course and I briefly turn to Hurst or Braunwald. A slide set would be a nice addition....
